PATRIOT — Vonley Cline Stanley, 64, of Patriot, passed away on Friday May 28, 2010, at his home. He was born on April 30, 1946, in North Wilkesboro, N.C., to the late Vernon and Jemima Job (Transeau) Stanley.
Vonley married Hazel Cade on May 5, 1973, in Lawrence County, and she survives him along with a daughter Barbie (Darrell Shaw) Bolyard of Patriot, three sons Vonley Adam (Kelli King) Stanley of Bidwell, Joe (Jessica) Stanley of Addison, and Rufus (Jessica Davis) Stanley of Gallipolis; 10 grandchildren; one great grandson; three brothers, Tom (Carolyn) Stanley, Jack Stanley, Tony (Debbie) Stanley, all of Patriot; five sisters Mary (David) Wheldon of Patriot, Margaret (Gene) Avery of Pedro, Kathy (Wayne) Harrison of Crown City, Linda (Joe) O’Dell of Jackson and Judy (Dave) Beiler of Lancaster, Pa.; and his mother-in-law, Reba (Knipp) Cade of Waterloo. Vonley was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Ralph Stanley; and two brothers-in-law, Freddie and Melvin Cade.
Vonley was a painter for Chris Craft, and a grader operator for Walnut and Harrison Township’s trustees.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at the Rehobeth Church with Pastors David Higgins and Wayne Harrison officiating. Burial will follow in the Miller Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at Willis Funeral Home, Gallipolis. His body will be taken to the church one hour prior the services on Thursday.
