Mr. James M. Lewis, 72, of Ironton, passed away Friday, June 11, 2010.
He was born Dec. 22, 1937 in Elliot County, Ky., the son of the late John L. and Vivian Maddox Lewis.
James was a veteran of the United States Army and was a Barber for 49 years; he was the owner of House of James Barber Shop.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Lee Murphy Lewis; one son, James Lewis, Jr. one infant sister, Lillian Elizabeth Lewis and two sisters-in-laws: Judy Lewis and Mary Lou Lewis.
James is survived by one son, John Forrest (Beth Bell) Lewis of Ironton; one step-son, Mike Kazee of Columbus; 10 grand-children, Rilee Lewis, Delanee Lewis, Braylon Lewis, Austin Bell, Blake Temple, Seth Kazee, Bo Kazee, Sasha Kazee, Ashley Kazee, and Mia Kazee; two brothers, Brownie Lewis of Batavia and John Lewis of Sardinia, Ohio; three sisters, Patty (Dan) Midkiff of Oneida, Kentucky, Doris (George) Gresham of Huntsville, Texas and Ramona (Charles) Schmidt of Sardinia, Ohio.
Funeral service will be noon Tuesday at the Tracy Brammer Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Kazee officiating. Interment will follow in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens, Flatwoods, Ky. Visitation will be 10 a.m. – noon Tuesday at the funeral home.
