COAL GROVE — Judy (Virginia Alice Comer) Jones, 65, of Coal Grove, died Sunday, June 27, 2010, at Kings Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Ky.
She was born May 5, 1945 the daughter of the late John T. and Hazel Comer Stapleton.
Judy retired from Forth FoodFair after 35 years as a cashier. She attended First Church of the Nazarene in Ironton and was a member of the Secret Sisters of the Nazarene Church. She also attended Coal Grove Schools.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son, Todd A. Jones; a sister, Edna Mae Comer and her brothers, Ralph, Dick and James Comer.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Thomas J. Jones; her daughters, Dee Jones of Ironton
Teresa Hughes of Gallipolis; a sister, Glenna Comer of Ironton; her brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Betty Comer of Ironton; a brother, Don and Wanda Comer; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Phillips Funeral Home with Pastor Rob Hale and the Rev. Don Comer officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. To offer condolences to the family please visit www.phillipsfuneralhome.net.
