Raymond (Jay) Stapleton, 69, of Ironton died Sunday, June 27, 2010, at his residence.
The Scioto County native was born May 22, 1941, the son of the late Logan and Virgie Steward Stapleton.
He was retired as a foreman from E.H. Schilling and Son. He attended Green Township Schools and was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents Jay was preceded in death by his brothers, Curtis, Burt, Harold and Kenneth Stapleton; a sister, Betty Littlejohn, Nellie Noble, Janie Mullins and Shirley Robinson.
He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Raymond Scott and Billie Stapleton of Chillicothe; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Paul and Mary Stapleton of Ironton and Elmer Stapleton and Goldie Hamilton of Wheelersburg; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Edna and Jerry Horner of Ironton and Dorothy Mullins of Franklin Furnace and two grandchildren.
