PORTSMOUTH — Mary Ruth Conley, 80, of Portsmouth, passed away Wednesday June 30, 2010, at SOMC Hospice.
She was born April 9, 1930 in Ohio Furnace to the late John M. and Ruth Margaret Chatfield Klaiber. She attended Central Baptist Church in Portsmouth and had retired as a foundry worker at Ironton Iron with 30 years of service. Mary loved being with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Donald Conley on Oct. 10, 2002. They were married in Ironton in 1973.
She is survived by her last surviving sibling, Louella McCall of Portsmouth; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Also preceding Mary in death were seven brothers, Cecil, Nelson, Charles, Harry, John, Carl and Leo Klaiber; and eight sisters, Hazel Johnson, Valerie Wiley, Gladys Otworth, Virginia Robinson, Mabel Stapleton, Ruby Showalter, Blanche Watson and Anna Klaiber.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the Central Baptist Church with the Rev. Arlis McCall and the Rev. Nelson Klaiber officiating. Burial will be in the Buckeye Cemetery at Ohio Furnace. The family will receive friends at the 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Ralph F. Scott Funeral Home in Portsmouth and 10 a.m. until the funeral hour on Saturday at the church.
