SOUTH POINT — Jimmie Bocook, 71, of Charlie Creek Road, South Point, passed away quietly at the home of his sister in Huntington, W.Va., early Sunday morning, July 4, 2010.
Jim was born May 10, 1939. Jim was the son of Edward and Ruth Chaffin Bocook. Besides his Father and Mother, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Joe Bocook , William Bocook, and the love of his life, Marie Hart.
Surviving are Jim’s eight brothers, Bill and Patricia Bocook, John and Rene Bocook, both of Proctorville, Jack and Marlene Bocook of Huntington, W.Va., Alan and Sandra Bocook, Charles and Pam Bocook of Catlettsburg, Ky., Eddie and Bea Bocook of Grayson, Ky., Butch and P.K. Bocook of South Point and Danny and Judy Bocook of Ashland, Ky.; his four sisters, Lalona Hodges of South Point, Mary and Steve Hutchinson of Huntington, Luanne Justice of Willow Wood, Donna and Thomas Hanna of Frankford, W. Va., and many other family and friends.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Kilgore & Collier Funeral Home on Panola Street in Catlettsburg. Childhood friend Mike Neal, Sr. will eulogize. Mr. Bocook will be laid to rest in Harmon Cemetery in Lawrence County, Ky. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
