If you missed it the first or second time or just can’t get enough of cruising the Ohio River, tickets are now available for this summer’s Belle of Cincinnati cruise.

A fundraiser for the Ironton-Lawrence County CAO, the cruise will offer a gourmet dinner with a leisurely sunset-dappled ride down the Ohio to Greenup, Ky., and back to Ironton just as the moon begins to illuminate the city’s skyline. The one-night cruise is scheduled for Friday, July 30.

Individual tickets are $100 each with a variety of table sponsorships available.

Gold sponsor is $2,000 with a preferred table for 8; Silver Sponsor is $1,500 for a table for 8.

These sponsors also get their names on the tickets and on publicity signage. Reserved tables for 8 will be $1,000 per table.

The menu for the five-star buffet dinner will include honey-glazed ham, breast of chicken with white cream sauce, fresh green beans with caramelized onions, glazed baby carrots, parsley new potatoes, three-grain rice medley with pecans and raisins and fresh mixed garden salads.

Desserts will be a choice of New York cheesecake or apple pie with caramel sauce.

This year there will be a special new addition to the entertainment line when the first deck will offer casino-style entertainment.

“You get play money and you can play games and turn them in for major prizes,” according to Dan Palmer, a cruise organizer.

The other two decks will offer “The Fugitives,” the popular combo that specializes in 1960s style music and Louie McNeil, the blues and jazz master.

There will also be a cash bar. Boarding for the Belle starts at 6 p.m. with the cruise coming back to Ironton around 10:30 p.m.

Tickets are available by calling Joan Terry, Dan Palmer or Cindy Caskey at the CAO at 532-3534. Deadline for placing ticket orders is July 28.
