GORDON WHITE

IRONTON — Gordon James White, 82, of Ironton passed away Saturday July 10, 2010, at a local nursing home facility. The Ironton native was born May 1, 1928 the son of the late Jesse James White and Roxie Mae Spradling White.
Gordon retired from the U.S. Navy after 30 years of service. He was a member of First Church of Nazarene and attended Whitwell High School.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Franklin and Kenneth White; and four sisters, Anna Osborne, Louise Butler, Edna Norris, and Betty Heaberlin.
He is survived by his wife, Rosalie Brammer White, whom he married Jan. 10, 1967; a daughter, Jessica White of Ironton; two stepsons, Michael Gool of Chillicothe and Danny Gool of Ironton;
a stepdaughter, Joyce and Gene Richards of Reynoldsburg; three grandchildren, Larry Joe Gool of Ironton, and Geoffrey and Trevor White, both of Ironton; two great grandchildren, Joshua and Breanna Gool, both of Ironton; six sisters and two brothers-in-law, Mary and Don Lewis of Holland, Mich., and Winnie and Butch Deer of Marietta, Erma Reedy, Helen Turvey, Janice Wilson and Diana Young, all of Ironton; two brothers, Carl and Jeannine White of Ironton and Robert and Kathy White of South Point; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday at First Church of Nazarene, 2318 S, Fourth St. Ironton, with Pastor Butch Deer and Rob Hale officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery with military rites by VFW Post 8850. Friends may call Wednesday from 6 until 9 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home.
