WILLOUGHBY — Nathan Kerns may not be in the lead, but he is showing consistency.
Kerns shot his second straight round of 74 Thursday in the third round of the 104th Ohio Amateur golf tournament held at the Kirkland Country Club.
Kerns — who shot an even par 71 in the first round — now has a three-day total of 219 heading into Friday’s final round.
The former Ironton All-Ohio golfer and Marshall University golfer was one of 43 players to make the final cut.
The tournament has a new leader as Wayne High School junior Michael Bernard shot a 69 for a 206 total. He now has a one-stroke lead over Cincinnati lawyer and former University of Akron golfer Bill Williamson who held the lead the first two rounds.
