PEDRO — Lloyd Daniel “Sonny” Webb, 82, of Pedro, passed away Friday, July 16, 2010, at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Russell, Ky.  The Lawrence County native was born May 21, 1928 the son of the late Thomas Webb and Lillie Lang Webb.
Mr. Webb was a 1946 graduate of Kitts Hill High School.  He retired after 46 years with the Dayton Malleable Iron Company in Ironton.  He was a United States Army Veteran serving during the Korean War with the 160th Infantry and received 2 Bronze Stars and the Purple Heart.  
He was a member of the Palestine Missionary Baptist Church where he served as Sunday School Superintendent since 1976 and was ordained as a Deacon in 1978.  
He was preceded in death by, in addition to his parents, one sister, Mary Brammer, and one brother, Thomas Webb.
He was the Beloved husband of Merle Coffman Webb of Pedro for 58 years. He is also survived by one grandson, Jesse Ray Waddell of Pedro; one sister, Helen Webb of South Point, two nephews, Ed Brammer of South Point, and Don (Umn) Webb of Coal Grove, two brothers-in-law, Charles (Nelrose) Coffman and James (Joy) Coffman both of Ironton, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday July 20, 2010 at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 South 7th Street in Ironton, with Pastors Todd Warner and Mike Huff officiating.  
Burial will follow in Leatherwood Cemetery.  Friends may call Monday evening from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.  Pallbearers will be Steve Lewis, Oakley Sparks, Kirk Sparks, Jesse Waddell, Chris and Brian Warner.
