MACK BARNES

SOUTH POINT — Mack Barnes, 59, of South Point, passed away Wednesday July 14, 2010 at his residence. The Lawrence County native was born January 8, 1951, the son of the late Corneilus Barnes and Shirl Collins Barnes.
Mr. Barnes was a 1970 graduate of South Point High School. He retired in 2006 after 35 years with the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local #577 as a pipefitter welder. He loved to ride motorcycles and was of the Baptist Faith.
He is survived by his wife, Jane Ellen Bender Barnes whom he married May 19, 1989; two daughters, Brianna Lee Barnes and Beth Anne Barnes both of South Point; one brother, Danny Barnes of South Point; and one sister, Ann Gold of Dayton. He is also survived by his two family dogs, Smokey Joe and Boo and all his motorcycle buddies.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. tomorrow at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 S. 7th St. in Ironton with Randy Keffer officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 5 until 7 p.m. and Monday from noon until the time of the service at the funeral home. Pallbearers for the service will be Rick Kinney, Mark Eaches, Greg Holsinger, John Bender, Wes Collins, Bob Brite, Jody Harmon and George Wall.
