COAL GROVE — Justin Bradley Allen, 23, of Coal Grove, passed away Sunday, July 18, 2010,  in the line of duty while serving in the U.S. Army in Afghanistan. The Ashland, Ky., native was born Aug. 7, 1986, the son of Roger Thomas Allen and Bonnie Riffe Allen of Coal Grove.
Justin was a 2005 graduate of Dawson Bryant High School and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Ashland, Ky. Justin was a Ranger for the U.S. Army, D Company 1st/75th Ranger Regiment. He also enjoyed football, track, weightlifting and chess.
He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Clifford and Mabel Allen; and maternal grandparents, Albert and Lula Riffe.
In addition to his parents, Justin is survived by sister and brother-in-law, Jennifer and Paul Dickerson of Grayson, Ky.; brother, Brian Allen of Ironton; niece, Jessica Burke of Ashland, Ky.; nephew, Bradley Allen of South Point; nephew, Nathan Dickerson of Grayson; nephew, Trenton Allen of South Point; great nephews, Joshua Burke, Caleb Burke and Christopher Burke III, all of Ashland, Ky.; great niece, Rowyn Allen of South Point; and fiancée, Kimberly Schwartz of Coal Grove.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Dawson-Bryant High School  with  Pastor Jon Rule officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery with full military honors.
