Point growth helps region

Its name — an intermodal facility — may confuse some people but, at its heart, the South Point business development will focus on commerce and progress.
It has been a long time coming as work on an intermodal facility continues to move forward and a formal groundbreaking will be hosted next Tuesday at The Point industrial park in South Point.
This project will be a tremendous asset to all of Lawrence County because it will essentially create a hub for our area for processing goods and materials.
Infrastructure will be key to Lawrence County’s future and having a facility in place will push a variety of spinoff industries to look at the region in a different light.
Some critics may look at this as a project that will only benefit South Point but that is far from the truth.
This intermodal facility could serve as an anchor for economic development for years to come.
The Point industrial park continues to be developed and grow as a premier marketing draw for Lawrence County in the entire Tri-State.
Focusing on our strengths and ekiminating our weaknesses will be vital to the entire region’s future.
We applaud all those who’ve worked hard on getting this project to where it is today after more than four years of preparation, hard work and planning
But this is only beginning.
This is the first step that has the region moving in the right direction.
