HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — Mary Maxine “Slapsie” Kirkpatrick, 82, of Huntington, died Saturday, Aug. 7, 2010, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Ky. The Marlinton, W. Va., native was born Aug. 12, 1927, the daughter of the late French Harmon Kirkpatrick and Anna Virginia Richards Kirkpatrick.
Ms. Kirkpatrick was a 1946 graduate of Marlinton High School. She was a former crew leader at Owens-Illinois Glass Company for 42 years and a member of the retirement club, known as the Owenized Club. She attended the Central Freewill Baptist Church and the Fairfield East Activity Center.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by two sisters: Mildred Sharp and Mabel Gum
She is survived by two brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Betty Kirkpatrick of Atlanta, Ga.; Max and Patty Kirkpatrick of Kitts Hill; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Phillips Funeral Home, with Pastor Steve Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Aid Cemetery.
