Heavy storms that began around 9 p.m. Saturday have caused flash flooding and knocked out power to hundreds of AEP Ohio customers.

The cause was reportedly a transformer fire. Power was restored by approximately 2 a.m. Sunday.

Emergency crews responded to several minor accidents and flood reports.
