Crack cocaine seized during traffic stop

LUCASVILLE — On Aug. 13 at about 11 p.m., troopers from the Portsmouth Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol initiated a traffic stop on U.S. 23 south of Lucasville for a marked lanes violation.

The driver was Shawtel E. Pointer, 27, of Huntington, W.Va. The front passenger was Rayshawn A. Wells, 20, of Huntington and the rear seat passenger was identified as Henry D. Coleman, 33, also of Huntington.

The suspects were en route from Columbus to Huntington.

The vehicle emitted an odor of marijuana from the passenger compartment.

A search of the vehicle revealed two small baggies of marijuana and two plastic baggies containing a total of 154 grams of suspected crake cocaine.

All three suspects were incarcerated in the Scioto County Jail on felony charges: possession of crack cocaine and trafficking crack cocaine. Both charges are felonies of the first degree.
