IRONTON — Raymond Earle Rader, 88, of Ironton, passed away Thursday, Aug. 12, 2010, at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Russell, Ky. The West Moreland, W. Va., native was born July 19, 1922, the son of the late Jesse R. Rader Sr. and Violet V. Stewart Rader. He is survived by his wife, Tressie Marie Campbell Rader, whom he married July 12, 1975.
Mr. Rader was a U.S. Army WW II Veteran and a former employee with the Erman-Howell Brokerage Company in Chicago, Ill., and the David Joseph Brokerage in Cincinnati. He was also a former construction superintendent in California. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge 32nd degree Mason F&AM, the El Hasa Shriners, the Valley of Cincinnati Scottish Rite and a Kentucky Colonial. He was a member of Sharon Baptist Church in Ironton.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two sisters, Eloise Rader Webb and Vera O. Martin.
In addition to his wife, he is also survived by a daughter, Sherry Lee Ridgeway of N. Ft. Myers, Fla.; three grandsons, Chief Warrant Officer 3 Hondo Hack and his wife, Martina of Chaumont, N.Y. and Miguel Galaza and his fiancée, Bianca Rincon, and Joaquin Galaza and his wife, Cynthia, all of San Jose, Calif.; two great grandchildren, Jasmine Hack and Jordan Hack; a brother and sister-in-law, Jesse R. Rader Jr. and his wife, Shirlene of Fairfield; and a sister, Charlotte Janiece Fields of Ironton and Darlene Jessup of Dublin.
Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Woodland Cemetery Section 11, with Rev. Steve Harvey officiating. There will be no visitation. Military graveside rites by VFW Post 8850.
