MARION — Rev. James David Jiles, 66, of Marion, formerly of Pedro died Thursday Aug. 12, 2010 at his residence.  The Lawrence County native was born Nov. 14, 1943 the son of the late Charles Arthur “Poke” Jiles and Stella Alice Sizemore Jiles.
Mr. Jiles attended Rock Hill High School, and was a former truck and diesel mechanic for Marion Steel.  He was an avid hunter and loved working for the Lord.  He was a member of Marion Christian Community Baptist Church in Marion.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson and two sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Penny Pruitt Jiles of Marion, whom he married May 3, 1980; daughter, Sharon Hartwig of Ashland, Ky.; son and daughter-in-law, David & Teresa Jiles of Ashland, Ky.; daughter and son-in-law, Bobbie Dawn and Bobby Cox of Pedro; daughter, Tammy Jiles and Raymond Markel of Pedro; son, Timothy Jiles and Christy Reaper of Pedro; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Mandy Jiles of Fredricktown; son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Jennifer Owens of Marion; daughter, Michelle Jiles of Marion; 14 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, brother and sister-in-law, Harold “Tinker” and Joann Giles of Pedro; brother and sister-in-law, Rev. Kenny and Jenny Jiles of South Webster; brother, Doyle Edward Jiles of Ironton; sister, Karen Sue Jiles Cox of Pedro; brother and sister-in-law, Steven and Sherry Jiles of Pedro; brother and sister-in-law, Charles Michael and Henrietta of Wurtland, Ky.; sister and brother-in-law, Teresa Lynn and John Payton of Galt, Calif.; sister, Sheila Jiles Brown of Ironton, and brother, Jeffrey Alan Jiles of Pedro.
Funeral service will be 4 p.m. Monday August 16, 2010 at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 S. Seventh St., Ironton with Rev. Kenny Jiles and Rev. Willard Blankenship officiating.
