IRONTON — Charlie Rawlins, 66, of Ironton, passed away Thursday, Aug. 26, 2010 at the Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky. The Ironton native was born March 28, 1944, the son of the late Tom and Phyllis Werner Rawlins. He is survived by his wife, Patti Cannan Rawlins, whom he married March 27, 1996.
Charlie was a 1962 graduate of Ironton High School. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1962-1966. He was a former pumper with Ashland Oil for 33 years, retiring in 2000.  Upon retiring from Ashland Oil, he moved to Florida but moved back to Ironton in 2006. He was also a former van driver for Tri-State Industries and was a small engine/lawnmower repairman. He was a volunteer at the Ironton Little League and was a Senior League Coach for many years.
In addition to his wife, he is also survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Charles Eric and Cheryl Rawlins of South Point; son and daughter-in-law, Scott Michael and Michelle Rawlins of Buchtel, Ohio;
six grandchildren, Seth Craft, Sara Chapman and her husband, David, Haley Rawlins, Mariah Rawlins, Sydne Rawlins, and Kylee Rawlins, a great grandson, Gage Chapman; a sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and Cotton Carpenter of Berea, Ky.; brother, Larry Rawlins of Claysville, Pa.; a brother and sister-in-law, Tom and Hang Rawlins of Vietnam; brother and sister-in-law, Eddie and Lena Rawlins of Ironton and several nieces and nephews. He will be sadly missed by his family and many friends.
The visitation will be Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2010 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 South Seventh Street, Ironton.
