Barbara Sue Byrne, 63, of Ironton, died Friday, Aug. 27, 2010, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Ky. The Lawrence County native was born July 3, 1947, the daughter of Margie Browning Collins of Ironton and the late Ermil G. Collins.
Barbara was a graduate of Rock Hill High School and attended Ashland Community College. She was a housewife and a member of the South Point United Methodist Church.
In addition to her father she was preceded in death by a brother, Robert “Bob” Collins.
In addition to her mother she is survived by her son, Derek P. and Keri Byrne of Phoenix, Ariz.; four sisters, Phyllis Spillman of Lexington, Ky., Juanita Stanley of Columbus, Connie Collins Robinson and Buck of Ironton and Pam and Andy Lawson of Kitts Hill; two brothers, John Collins and Greg Collins, both of Ironton; two grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Phillips Funeral Home with Dr. Kevin Willis officiating. Burial will follow in Sugar Creek Cemetery. There will be no public visitation. To offer condolences to the family please visit www.phillipsfuneralhome.net.
