Drugs, cash confiscated in raid

SOUTH POINT — The Country Hearth Motel in South Point was the site of a drug raid Friday that netted prescription drugs and $33,000 in cash.

The Lawrence County Drug/Major Crimes Task Force arrested five inside a room of the motel, following information from another police agency that the room was allegedly being used as a location for drug trafficking. Inside the room police recovered 614 oxycodone pills and 97 xanax plus cash.

Arrested for aggravated trafficking of drugs, felony II were Timothy Williams, 37, of Lehigh Acres, Fla., and Alfred Williams, 50, of Labelle, Fla. Arrested for attempted possession of drugs, felony V were William Nickles, 32, of Louisa, Ky., and Rebekah Greer, 28, of Thomas Street, Ashland, Ky. Also arrested was David Nelson, 48, of Middletown, N.J., for obstruction of justice, felony V.

All five will be arraigned in the Lawrence County Municipal Court today.

Assisting the drug task force were the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office, the FADE Task Force and the Russell, Ky., police.
