GALLIPOLIS — It was a tale of two halves.
The St. Joseph Flyers dominated in the first half, but the Ohio Valley Christian Defenders took over after the break to rally for a 5-3 soccer win Monday.
“Once again, the Flyers put in a good effort but could not take advantage of several scoring chances,” said Flyers’ coach Dan Blair.
St. Joseph took a 3-1 led at the half only to have OVC outscore them 4-0 in the second half.
Payton Blair scored two goals, Joseph Payton had goal while Nick Roach added two assists to lead the St. Joseph.
The Flyers will play again on Tuesday when they play at home in a 6 p.m. return match with OVC.
