CHESAPEAKE — Things are starting to look up for the Chesapeake Lady Panthers.
The Lady Panthers’ volleyball team picked up their second straight win Monday with a straight sets victory over the St. Joseph Female Flyers.
Chesapeake took the win 25-11, 25-15 and 25-17.
The Lady Panthers won as Sarah Rice had a strong all-around game while Caitlin Heffner had five ace serves and Amanda Ruffner got five kills.
“Sarah Rice had a real nice game. All our girls played well. We’re starting to get better,” said Chesapeake coach Dana Edwards.
“(Katie) Hacker did a real good job on serves and with her play at the net for St. Joe. She gave Ruffner all she could handle.”
In the reserve match, Chesapeake won 25-8, 25-11 as Abby Walters had 11 points including nine ace serves.
On Saturday, Chesapeake beat New Boston in four sets, 25-23, 26-24, 21-25 and 25-15. Amanda Ruffner had 15 kills.
“Kelsey Dillow played her best match ever and Ruffner had a great game,” said Edwards.
The Lady Panthers won the reserve match 27-25, 25-23 behind the serving of Courtney Baker and the play of Sarah Brumfield.
Chesapeake hosts Rock Hill in an Ohio Valley Conference match Thursday.
