Chesapeake Class of 1970 gearing up for reunion

Chesapeake High School’s Class of 1970 is planning their 40th reunion for the weekend of October 8th and 9th, 2010. It will coincide with the school’s Homecoming activities and the village’s Oktoberfest.

A “Meet and Greet” tailgate party will be held on Friday, October 8th at the Chesapeake Middle School parking lot from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m..

Catering will be furnished by AJ’s Pig Pickin of Milton, W.Va. for a fee of $12 per individual. A guest or families are invited to participate. Reservations will be taken until Sept. 20, 2010.

Checks are to be made payable to: Andy Jones and mailed to: D. Jones, 124 Township Road 1291, Proctorville, OH 45669.

Following the tailgate, the class will sit as a group in a reserved section of the bleachers for the football game.

Tickets will be complimentary for the alumni, but spouses and children accompanying them must purchase individual tickets for the game.

There will be a balloon-release at half-time in memory of the 1970 classmates who have passed away.

On Saturday, Oct. 9, alumni are free to spend time mingling at the Village’s Oktoberfest activities at the Triangle in downtown Chesapeake. The group will be reuniting for a celebratory meal at a place to be determined at a later date.
