Ironton 43, Ashland 6

Tres Wilks ran eight times for 212 yards and four touchdowns and also returned an interception 54 yards for a score as the Ironton Fighting Tigers crushed the Ashland (Ky.) Tomcats 43-6.

Ironton (4-0) came into the game a heavy underdog but shutdown the high-powered Ashland offense. The Tomcats (4-1) came in averaging 46 points a game but managed just 58 yards rushing.

Ashland quarterback Sam Hunter was 15-of-26 for 174 yards but he was intercepted twice and was harassed the entire game. Ironton registered four sacks.

Symmes Valley 46, Manchester 25

WILLOW WOOD — The Symmes Valley Vikings rolled up 483 yards of total offense and cruised past the Manchester Greyhounds 46-25 Friday.

The Vikings (4-0) first team only played 16 minutes but built a 34-0 lead before turning the game over to the second team.

Symmes Valley racked up 444 yards rushing with Evan Herrell getting 98 yards on just four carries and he scored two touchdowns. Cody Meyers ran four times for 64 yards and hit 1-of-4 passes for 23 yards.

Wheelersburg 42, Fairland 22

PROCTORVILLE — Offense.

Wheelersburg had 470 yards of total offense and Fairland 471 as the veteran Pirates held on for a 42-22 win Friday.

Brandon Schankweiler ran nine times for 195 yards and three touchdowns to lead Wheelersburg (2-2).

Fairland quarterback Chad Fisher ran for 153yards on 20 carries and a completed 16 of 21 passing for 267 yards including two TD strikes to Jon Baise.

However, the Dragons had four turnovers that led to Wheelersburg points including a 45-yard interception return for a touchdown by Dakota Luster.

Lucasville Valley 35, Chesapeake 6

CHESAPEAKE — Alex Holcomb ran for 125 yards and Blake Yaters threw for 144 yards as the Lucasville Valley Indians pulled away in the second half to beat the Chesapeake Panthers 35-13 Friday.

The Panthers (0-4) took a 7-0 lead on a 4-yard pass from Austin McMaster to Brandon Noble. Valley (4-0) took an 8-7 with 3:54 left in the half on a 13-yard pass from Yates to Holcomb. Yates ran 12 yards for a touchdown with 1:56 left in the half and it was 15-7 at the break.

McMaster was injured in the first half and did not return. Noble took over as the quarterback.

Point Pleasant 48, South Point 8

POINT PLEASANT, WV — Chris Blankenship ran for 115 yards and a touchdown and JaWaan Williams had 75 yards rushing an69 receiving as the Black Knights rolled up for more than 400 yards total offense in a 48-8 rout of the South Point Pointers Friday.

Portsmouth West 62, Rock Hill 0

WEST PORTSMOUTH — The Portsmouth West Senators racked up 531 yards of total offense en route to a 62-0 win over the Rock Hill Redmen Friday.

Rock Hill finished with just 113 yards of offense, 63 though the air and 50 yards rushing.

Coal Grove at Trimble

Due to the tornado damage Thursday, the Coal Grove (2-1) at Trimble (1-2) game will be play Saturday night at Nelsonville-York’s Dave Boston Stadium.
