With Election Day around the corner, the Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce will soon host its Bi-annual Candidates Forum.

The town hall-style forum will be on Oct. 5.

Chamber Director Bob Smith said that the candidates up for election in each race would make opening statements and take audience questions.

“It is more like a forum than a debate,” said Smith.

Candidates for five different races will speak at the forum.

On the ballot for Ohio’s Sixth Congressional District are Democratic incumbent Charlie Wilson and Republican Bill Johnson.

For Senate District 17, Republican David Daniels and Democrat Justin Fallon. For House District 87, Republican John Carey and Democrat Clay Baker.

For House District 89, Republican Terry Johnson, Democrat Ron Hadsell and Green Party candidate Dennis Lambert.

For Lawrence County Commission, Republican Paul Herrell and Democrat Doug Malone.

The forum will be held at 5:30 p.m. in the Bowman Auditorium of Ohio University Southern.
