Ironton Primary Care adds cardiology services

IRONTON — Ironton Primary Care (1005 East Ring Road) has added cardiology services through a partnership with Bellefonte Heart Care (1180 Saint Christopher Drive, Suite 2).

“This is an exciting addition,” Debbie Burton, Ironton Primary Care site manager, said. “We’re happy to make it easier than ever for the community members of Lawrence County to see a heart specialist.” Cardiology services will be provided by cardiologist Yogendra Prasad, M.D., F.A.C.C.

Prasad earned his medical degree at Darbhanga Medical College in India. He also earned a post-graduate degree from Sarojini Naidu Medical College including a residency at All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi, India.

Prasad completed a residency at the Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center in Bronx, N.Y., where he was chief resident. He also completed a cardiovascular disease fellowship at Montefiore Medical Center in Bronx, N.Y.

Prasad has an extensive cardiology background with experience in echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, cardiac catheterization, congestive heart failure and general cardiology. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine.
