Sandra Jean Vickers, 73, of Ironton, died on Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2010, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky., following an extended illness. She was the daughter of the late Verlah and A.J. Vaughn of Ironton and the loving wife of the late Robert (Red) Vickers, whom she married in 1956. Also, preceding her in death is her brother and sister-in-law, John (Jocko) and JoAnne Vaughn of Ironton.

She leaves behind her loving son and daughter-in-law, John and Karen Vickers; granddaughters, Mary Vickers and Melissa Vickers, all of Ironton, Ohio; special cousin, Joseph L. Cartwright of Webb City, Mo.; a brother-in-law, Clifford Vickers of Huntington, W.Va.; a sister-in-law, Mary Ruth Clark of Shelbyville, Ind.; along with many nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
