If you have ever wondered what kind of events go on at Ohio University Southern, or what kind of programs are offered, the Ironton campus is giving you the opportunity to find out.

On Thursday, the public, as well as OUS students, are invited to the Third Annual Fall Quarter Resource Fair in the Riffe Center-Mains Rotunda.

“It’s an opportunity for people to come in and learn what campus and community resources are here in the area,” said Jacki Adkins, assistant director of enrollment and student services.

Adkins said the fair would include tables for each degree offered at OUS as well as student services and financial aid information.

There will, however, be more than just academic information available, Adkins said.

“We’ve opened it up from being a majors fair to being a resource fair. We’ve involved these outside agencies that can also be helpful to the community and our students that they may not be aware of that are here.”

Adkins said that there would be fitness programs represented as well as local banks, health departments and student clubs and organizations.

The fair begins at 11 a.m. and lasts until 5 p.m. Adkins said she wants to let the public know that the event is just as much for them as the student body.

“A lot of times they think events on campus are closed off to just students,” she said. “But this is also a recruitment event to let the community know about the things we have to offer here on campus.”
