SOUTH POINT — Janet Lee White Ackison Carter, 48, of South Point, passed away Wednesday Oct. 20, 2010, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Ky. The Columbus native was born Nov. 1, 1961, the daughter of the late Glenn Joseph and Cora Mae Chapman White.

Mrs. Carter attended Dawson- Bryant High School and was a homemaker.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Landon Ackison; a brother, Danny White; and a sister, Joyce Sherman.

She is survived by a son, Donald Ackison of Ironton; a daughter: Heather Ackison of Ironton; a special friend: Sharon DeBerry of Columbus;

three sisters and two brothers-in-law: Naomia and Larry Utley of South Point; Marsha and Dave Neal and Penny Runyon, all of Ironton; two brothers and a sister-in-law: Fred White and Larry and Tammy White all of Ironton; a sister-in-law: Dree White of Ironton; eight step-brothers and sisters: Barbara Clark, Loretta Evans, Glenna Webb, Pauline White, Cathy Carper, Ersa White, Teddy White, and Jimmy White, all of Kentucky; grandkids: Destiney Ackison, Darriana Ackison, Ta’Leigha Ackison, Ta’Nyia Ackison, and Leland Ackison; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 12 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2010, at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 S. Seventh St., Ironton, with Bro. Jack Pemberton and Rev. Jim Beals officiating.
