Glenna C. Woltz Bruce

PEDRO — Glenna C. Woltz Bruce, 83, of Pedro, passed away Monday, Oct. 25, 2010, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Ky. The Pedro native was born May 5, 1927, the daughter of the late John C. and Dora Aldridge Woltz. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Howard Bruce, whom she married Dec. 31, 1949.

Mrs. Bruce was a graduate of Pedro High School and was a homemaker. She was a member of Woodland Chapel Church and in the Order of the Eastern Star-Waterloo Chapter.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Wanda Woltz.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Ken Pancake of Pedro; son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Roger Dean and Rose Ann Bruce of Birmingham, Ala.; daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Addison Whitt of West Liberty, Ky.; son, James Howard Bruce of Pedro; seven grandchildren, Donald Pancake and his wife, Becky, Kendora Pancake, all of Pedro, Olivia Bruce of Auburn, Ala., Jared Bruce and Jacob Bruce both of Kitts Hill, Raleigh Bruce of Birmingham, and Ashton Whitt of West Liberty; and four great grandchildren: Haley, Isabelle, Colt, and Zander Pancake all of Pedro.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Phillips Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Sparks officiating. Burial will follow in Sugar Creek Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Emerson Bruce, Ken Pancake, Addison Whitt, Donald Pancake, Jared Bruce, and James Howard.
