LUCASVILLE — Maxie Delores Thompson, 80, of Lucasville, passed away Sunday, Oct. 31, 2010, at home.

She was born Nov. 30, 1929 in Lucasville, a daughter of the late John Morton and Elizabeth Tennessee (Harris) Johnson.

Delores was a retired teachers’ aide for the Northwest School District and a 1947 graduate of Valley High School. She attended Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Lucasville.

Delores is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Ralph Eugene Thompson, whom she married Aug. 7, 1948, in Lucasville; three sons, Larry (Patti Kent) Thompson of Chillicothe, Edward Thompson of Brentwood, TN, and Andrew Thompson of Waverly; two grandchildren, Rachael (Richard) Rodman of Mason, and Zachary Thompson of Columbus; two great-grandchildren, Anna and Jack Rodman of Mason; one brother, John Johnson of Lucasville; and one sister, Roseann (Thurl) Zempter of St. George, Utah.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Geneva (Paul) Carter of Dayton.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 4, 2010, at Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Lucasville, with Dale Wortman and the Rev. David Cottrell officiating. Burial will follow in Scioto Burial Park, McDermott. Friends may call between 5 and 8 p.m. Wednesday at the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville and for one hour before the service at the church.
