GREENUP, Ky. — Pauline Burchell Jordan Stapleton, 84, of Greenup, passed away at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky., Sunday, Nov. 14, 2010, following an extended illness. She was born Aug. 31, 1926, in Danyleton, Greenup County, Ky., to the late Albert and Dova Rowe Burchwell. Pauline is survived by her husband, Seldon Stapleton, whom she married on July 24, 1995 and who provided a tremendous level of care to her for the past nine years. Surviving are a daughter, Donna Mannon (Don), of Oak Ridge, N.C.; a son, the Rev. Robert A. Jordan (Lynn) of Louisa, Ky.; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two brothers, Raymond Burchwell of Raccoon, Ky. and Curtis Burchwell of Flatwoods, Ky.; and four sisters, Louisa Grizzle of Lexington, Ky., Bessie Fields of Ashland, Sylvia Dehart of Louisville, Ohio, and Nancy Bryan of Raceland, Ky.

Pauline was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by her first husband, the Rev. Robert L. Jordan, whom she married on Jan. 12, 1947 and who died Jan. 10, 1999; three brothers, Charles, James and Irvin Burchwell; and a sister, Emma Jane Burchwell. Funeral will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Preston Family Funeral Home, Ashland, with Pastor Ed Cook officiating. Burial will be in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens.
