Thomas Lee Cutlip

Thomas Lee Cutlip, 58, of Ironton, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2010, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky., surrounded by his family. The Ashland, Ohio, native was born March 29, 1952, the son of Harold Wilson Cutlip and Rosemary Tucker Cutlip of Ashland, Ohio. He is also survived by his wife, Patrice Diane Hawley Cutlip, whom he married March 20, 1977.

Mr. Cutlip was a graduate of Ashland High School in Ashland, Ohio, and Ohio University. He was a U.S. Army National Guard veteran and a charter member of the Optimist Club in Wilmington and a member of the Republican Club. He was a chemical engineer/chemist for Halliburton Services for 15 years and a detective for the Lawrence County Sheriff’s office for three years.

In addition to his parents and wife, he is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jason R. and Annie Cutlip and Zachary A. Cutlip, all of Ironton; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Larry and Connie Cutlip of Gassaway, W.Va., and Dana and Linda Cutlip of Ashland, Ohio; a sister and brother-in-law, Cathy and Bud Edwards of Ashland, Ohio; an aunt and uncle: Helen and Bob Traugh of Gassaway; and an uncle and aunt, Melvin and Shirlee Cutlip of Ashland, Ohio.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Phillips Funeral Home, with Rev. Jeff Cremeans officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery. There will be military graveside rites by VFW Post 8850. Friends may call Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
