Earnest “Bugs” Bailey Jr.

Earnest “Bugs” Bailey Jr., 64, of Ironton, passed away Saturday, Dec. 25, 2010, at his residence.  The Lawrence County native was born Jan. 18, 1946, the son of the late Earnest Bailey Sr. and Hazel Lane Bailey.

Mr. Bailey was a graduate of Rock Hill High School.  He worked in the maintenance department for the Rock Hill School District and was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Carl Bailey; and three sisters, Sara Jane Bailey, Edna Jean Joseph and Freda Sinnott.

He is survived by his wife, Charlotte L. Easterling Bailey who he married Aug. 14, 1967;

daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca & Sean Counts of Hurricane, W.Va.; son and daughter-in-law,  Mark & Missy Bailey of Ironton; son and daughter-in-law,  Phillip and Rebecca Bailey of Pedro; six grandchildren,  Andrew Bailey, Jenna Counts, Robbie Counts, Trey Bailey, Paige Bailey and Yaden Bailey; five brothers,  Gordon and Barb Bailey of Ironton, Bill and Betty Bailey of Ironton, Denny and Lisa Bailey of Orlando, Fla., Frank Bailey of Pedro, Jerry and Karen Bailey of Kitts Hill,

six sisters: Shirley Bailey of Ironton, Faye Fox of Pedro, Margaret and LeRoy Holbrook of Ironton, Hazel and Earnest Holbrook of Pedro, Ruth and LeRoy Akers of Pedro, Hilda and Charles Jenkins of Pedro.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Phillips Funeral Home 1004 S. Seventh Street, Ironton, with Rev.
