Have you made your resolution?

Now that Christmas is over and we are approaching the new year, have you made any New Year’s resolutions?

The best that you can make is to go to a church that preaches the Word of God and learn just what Jesus Christ did for you, by taking your place on the cross and paying all your sins in full.

In Revelation 3: 20 and 21 He said, “Behold I stand at the door and knock, if any man hear my voice, and open the door I will come in and sup with him, and he with me. To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I overcame and set down with my Father in his throne.”

There was a time that I thought that all churches were the same. However, since I got saved and started reading the Bible, I found out this isn’t true, as some churches have left the word of God and are teaching what men or women want to hear.

The Bible is clearly against these teachings. Teaching for doctrine, the commandments, of men and not adhering to Luke 21: 33, “Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.”

This means that the word of God is to be carried out, which so many churches are ignoring today. In order to be able to “draw the crowd” they will do anything, but not preach the “word.”

Neither entertainment nor games can save.

I do not think that I am in the only church that is going to heaven, for anyone who is born again by the blood of our Lord and Savior is my brother or sister, no matter what church name is above the door.

However, if you have lost your first love for Christ, and are not being fed a good meal by your preacher, then find a church that is preaching the word of God, which is just what the Lord did when he called the preacher.

We are told the same as he told Peter, “Feed my lambs, feed my sheep, feed my sheep.” And you sheep, are you feeding on the word of God, or are you waiting on the preacher? If the second is true, then you are loosing weight, as no one can gain weight on 3 meals a week, which is what you are getting if you are only relying on your pastor.

Also, if you truly want to be blessed then do not say, “I can’t do that job.” I never thought that I could preach, that is until he called me.

As I said at the first of this writing: Are you making plans to spend your future in Heaven?

None of us are sure that we will be alive by the beginning or end of 2011. So, if you aren’t ready to meet God, you can be by going to church, listening to the word of God, repenting your sins, asking Jesus to save your soul, believe in your heart that he did and join a church by being baptized in water.

Then live for him. I have been doing so since 1965. I haven’t been perfect, but I’m saved and will spend an eternity with Jesus in Heaven, which is my greatest happiness that no one can take from me.

If you aren’t “born again” you will not be with me there.
