The Wood Family and the staff from the Resource Center of St. Mary’s Medical Center would like to thank all of those who supported and participated in our annual Lisa Wood Pinkerman Memorial Golf Tournament at Diamond Links Golf Course in Catlettsburg, Ky.
Having lost a wonderful sister, daughter, mother, wife, niece and friend when Lisa passed away at the young age of 38 in 1998, we are grateful that something so positive could evolve from something so truly devastating.
To the faithful Wood family members, Oakland Chapel members, Liebert Corp., Judge Scott Bowling and other residents of rural Lawrence County who have always supported this tournament, to our newer supporters: People’s Bank, St. Mary’s Medical Center, American Electric Power and Lawrence County Commissioner Les Boggs – who not only sponsored a team but whose team gave their prize winnings back to the tournament – we would like to offer our heartfelt thanks and appreciation for the community spirit you exhibited by supporting our endeavor to eradicate cancer entirely.
I would also like to personally thank Becky Bowling, Sherri and Randy Hamilton, Chris Smith, Candy Picklesimer, Bob and Carol Wood, Ashley Mannon, Lynzi Kelley, the ‘Aunts’ (you know who you are), and Scott Rowsey, golf professional at Diamond Links Golf Course and his staff, for contributing and helping during the day of the event, showing up early and working tirelessly to make sure the whole thing was a success.
All net proceeds from this tournament go directly to the American Cancer Society and we are very happy and honored to give them this money on behalf of all who participated.
