IPD arrests alleged bank robber

The Ironton Police Department has charged a man in connection with Wednesday’s bank robbery.

Talmadge M. Bacon, 30, of Ironton, was arrested Friday on a probation violation. He then admitted to the robbery at US Bank, 2301 S. Third Street, Detective Chris Bowman of IPD, said.

The man is charged with one count of robbery.

The alleged robbery happened around 12:27 p.m. Wednesday. Bacon allegedly passed a note demanding money and stating that he had explosives to a bank teller.

Bowman said he thanks the Ironton community for providing the information that lead to the arrest.
