COLUMBUS (AP) — Ohio State quarterback Terrelle Pryor underwent surgery on Friday afternoon to repair an injury to his right foot. Posting on his Twitter account, Pryor deemed the surgery “successful.”

Pryor was injured in the fourth quarter of the Buckeyes’ 31-26 Sugar Bowl win over Arkansas on Tuesday. It was a quarterback sneak in which he has reaching for a first down. He left the game, but did return with a limp. The surgery stabilized some ligaments in the foot.

Pryor faces a five-game suspension at the beginning of the 2011 season for his role in selling Ohio State awards to a tattoo parlor owner.
