WELLSTON — What a difference a day makes.
In a 50-45 loss to John Glenn on Saturday at the Wellston National Hoops Classic, Ironton bounced back on Sunday with a better offensive team effort in a 70-55 rout of the Dayton Stivers Tigers.

“We did a little better job today. We had a little more intensity and we played well as a team,” said Ironton coach Mark LaFon.
“We rely on Carter and Fletcher to score, but we need to have more contributions offensively from other players. We have to keep defenses honest and we’re starting to understand that.”
Stivers (3-6) was led by Brooklyn Bradley with 14 points. Darryl Smith added 13 and Robert Caldwell 12.
Fletcher and Elliott did most of the offensive damage in the first quarter as the combined for 10 points as Ironton jumped on Stivers 13-3.
A layup by Josh Murphy gave Ironton a 20-10 lead with 5:30 left in the second quarter.
Leading 20-12, Ironton went on an 8-2 run to take a 28-14 lead with 2:11 on the clock.
