PROCTORVILLE — Ohio University Southern has found away to get students from all its local campuses together for some friendly competition.
Every Wednesday night at the Proctorville Center, students can come and show that they’ve got game. Think board games and video games.
Sarah Kyllo, student services specialist at the Proctorville Center, started a game night for the winter quarter to try to get all the students involved.
“I think students at the regional campuses tend to just come to their classes and go home and don’t a have a lot of interaction with their peers,” Kyllo said. “We want to really encourage people to feel like they’re involved on a campus and have that part of their educational experience.”
Kyllo said there are board games, corn horn, ping pong and Nintendo Wii and Xbox 360 games. She also said movies are shown on the projector.
The game night is from 7-9:30 p.m. in the common area at the Proctorville Center and is free for all OU students. This Wednesday will mark the third week and Kyllo said she would like a better turnout.
“Come out and check it out,” she said. “We have door prizes, free snacks. You can come at anytime; you don’t have to stay the whole time. It’s just a way to meet other students and have fun.”
