The Female Flyers used their size to beat the Ohio Valley Christian Lady Defenders 63-29 Monday.

“Our size was an advantage for us and we shot the best we have all year. We really shot the ball well,” said Female Flyers coach Nick Miller.

Katie Haacker led a balanced St. Joseph offense with 18 points. Sarah Neal had 11 points and Becca Patrick 10 as eight different players scored.

Madison Crank scored 22 points — 12 in the fourth quarter — to lead OVC.

After falling behind 6-2 to start the game, the Female Flyers stormed back to take a 16-8 lead at the end of the first quarter.

“We started getting back on defense and then we got our offense going,” said Miller.

St. Joseph held OVC to just two points in the second quarter and pulled away to a comfortable 37-10 halftime lead. They led 50-13 after three quarters.

The Female Flyers host Portsmouth Notre Dame Monday.
