SOUTH POINT — Beverly Ann Lynd, of South Point, passed from this life on Sunday, Jan. 30, 2011, in King’s Daughters Medical Center. Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Friday at St. Ann’s Catholic Church with Father Charles Moran officiating. There will be a private burial. Beverly was born April 15, 1928, in Marietta, a daughter of the late Roy and Kathleen Hutchinson Davis.
She was a teacher for South Point Local School District for 19 years before teaching at St. Joseph Central Catholic High School until retirement. She was also a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Merlin Lynd; one son, Larry Lynd; her daughter-in-law, Jenny Lynd; and her son-in-law, Terry Hughes.
Beverly is survived by seven children, Ann Crabtree of South Point, Dixie Staley of Reynoldsburg, Shirley “Kitty” (Ron) Lipscomb of Manteno, Ill., and David Dillon, Carol (John) Sullivan, Andy Lynd, and Emma (Mark) Stewart, all of South Point; 16 grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; five siblings, Larry Davis, Mary Hungate, Joseph F. Eldridge, Nancy Eldridge, and Joe Eldridge; a special caregiver who was like a daughter to her, Debbie Conwell; and her faithful companion, Teeny.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm. today at Schneider-Griffin Funeral Home, Chesapeake. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Chesapeake CMO Food Bank or Michael’s Grace Place in South Point. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.schneidergriffin.com.
