Junior Female Flyers

win Catholic Tourney

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — The Ironton St. Joseph Junior Female Flyers won the annual Catholic Schools basketball tournament with a 34-16 win over Huntington St. Joseph.

The Junior Female Flyers were led by tournament MVP Hannah Miller with 13 points. Sidney Payne — who was named to the all-tournament team — scored seven points.

Ironton St. Joseph (13-1) beat Our Lady of Fatima 34-8 in Friday’s semifinal game. Huntington St. Joe beat Ashland Holy Family.

The Junior Female Flyers will host Ironton at 5 p.m. Monday.

Junior Flyers advance

in Catholic tournament

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — The St. Joseph Junior Flyers down Our Lady of Fatima 39-15 Friday in the semifinals of the boys annual Catholic Schools tournament.

Trey Young scored 10 points and Troy Scott and Cole Willis six each to pace the Junior Flyers.

Alex Ward had five points while Tim Dickess, Chris Lewis and Kyle Williams scored four each.

Hinkle had all 15 points for Our Lady of Fatima.
