PEDRO — Carolyn Louise Shope Hayes, 64, of Pedro, passed away peacefully at home the morning of Monday, Feb. 7, 2011. She was born on Feb. 21, 1946. She was the daughter of the late Carl “Pee Wee” and Mildred “Millie” Bradshaw Shope.

She was also preceded in death by one son, Robert Joe “Bobby” Hayes; one sister, Barbara Ann Shope; and brothers, Carl Gordon Shope and John P. Shope.

She is survived by three sons, Michael David Shope of Midland, Mich., Ira Hayes Jr. of Pedro and James D. Hayes of Pedro; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Anyone wishing to express condolences can do so by making a donation to the American Cancer Society or another charity of choice.

There will be a memorial service at a later date. Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods, Ky., is in charge of arrangements.
