Charles Jarrett

COAL GROVE — Charles Jarrett, 74, of Coal Grove, died Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2011, at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Ashland, Ky.  Charles was born Jan. 23, 1937, in Greenup County, Ky., the son of the late Jesse Leonard and Edna Marie Jarrett. He attended Russell schools, worked as a laborer for Dayton Malleable and was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Bessie Louise Butler Jarrett.

He is survived by two daughters, Debra Jarrett of Coal Grove and Sherry (Everett) Adkins of Pedro; two sons, Jess (Kimberly) Jarrett and Mike (Cheryl) Jarrett, both of Pedro; two sisters, Carolyn Steele of Oak Hill and Shirley Triplett of Ironton; companion, Linda Morris of Russell, Ky.; two stepsons, Ronnie Morris and Johnny Morris, both of Russell; nine grandchildren; and 20 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Phillips Funeral Home with Pastor Gene Butler officiating. Burial will follow in Slabfork Cemetery.  Visitation will be Friday from 11a.m.-1p.m. at the funeral home. To offer condolences to the family, please visit www.phillipsfuneralhome.net.
