WATERLOO — Edward “Eddie” Ray Russell, 45, of Waterloo, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2011, at his residence. The Portsmouth native was born Aug. 7, 1965, the son of Jimmy Russell of Beaver, Ohio and the late Bessie Lore Russell. He is also survived by his wife, Shelly Miller Russell, whom he married Feb. 25, 2005.

Eddie attended Oak Hill Schools and was an employee of Aluchem Inc. in Jackson. He was a member of the Independent Freewill Baptist Church in Ironton and was an avid coon and deer hunter and loved to fish.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a brother, Mark Anthony Russell.

In addition to his wife and father, he is survived by three sons and a daughter-in-law, Edward R. Jr. and Sue Russell of Wayne, W.Va., Timothy R. Russell of Delbarton, W. Va. and John M. Lewis of Waterloo; three daughters and a son-in-law, Stephanie Russell Jordan of Delbarton, W.Va., Trisha M. Lewis of Reynoldsburg and Rachel E. and Thomas Waibel of Columbus; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Ronnie and Patsy Russell of Jackson and Jimmie “Doodle” and Sis Russell of Oak Hill; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Sharon Moore of Portsmouth, Dianna and Mitchell Horner of Oak Hill and Tammy and Jack Hoover of Beaver; and three grandchildren, Emily Russell, Jayden Woodfolk and A.J. Jordan

Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Phillips Funeral Home with Rev. Ken Jiles officiating. Burial will follow in Vernon Furnace Cemetery.
