After losing to Sheridan on two foul shots with no time on the clock in last year’s sectional finals, the South Point Lady Pointers settled the outcome early as they rolled past the Warren Lady Warriors 61-41 on Saturday in the Division II sectional tournament championship.

The Lady Pointers will face Miami Trace (21-1) at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday at Southeastern High School in the district semifinals.

South Point (18-3) used a balance attack led by Jalynn Bradburn with 16 and Kayla Fletcher with 15 points. Kimmie Bennett scored 11 and Allison Mitchell added nine.

Bailey Poage scored 15 for Warren (11-11).

Bradburn and Fletcher score five points each in the first quarter as South Point raced its way to a 16-4 lead.

Bradburn scored nine more points in the second quarter and the defense held Warren to just four points to build a 33-12 halftime cushion.

Fletcher and Bennett scored five points each in the third quarter — both hit a 3-pointer — as the lead grew to 50-28.

South Point converted 7 of 10 from the foul line in the fourth quarter with Angelica Stewart going 3 for 4 to help clinch the win.
