David Barron Haney

David Barron Haney, 79, of Ironton, died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2011, at Jo-Lin Nursing Center. He was the son of the late Clark and Louise Barron Haney. He was retired from the Ironton Coke plant. He was a Korean Army Veteran and was a member of Pine Grove St. Mary’s Catholic Church. He was a proficient horseman and long distance endurance rider.
He was preceded in death by his parents and five brothers, Sonny and his wife Lee Haney, William Clark Haney Jr. (Buddy), Louis R. Haney, Bill Daniels and Tom (Sonny) Madden. He was also preceded by two nephews, Brain Madden and Christopher Haney.
He is survived by two sisters, Janet Haney Madden and Carroll Lee Daniels; and one brother and sister-in-law Mike and Mikie Haney. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, David and Jill Haney, Dr. John J. Haney Jr., Thomas Haney, Concetta and David Havilan, Louis and Margarita Haney, Timothy and Judy Madden, Shawn and Kathy Madden, Kevin Madden, Sheila and David Lehman, Mary Ann and Mike Green, Barbara and Ernie Shaver, Maureen and Beep McCarty, Sheila and Larry Chase, Mathew and Lori Daniels, Erin Daniels, Jennifer and Jerry Bennett, Cara and Phillip Clark. Uncle Dave is also missed by a multitude of great nieces and nephews. “Shorty” is also survived by his beloved Jo-Lin family and friends and neighbors.
Funeral Mass will be Friday 11 a.m. at St Lawrence O’Toole Catholic church. Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Thursday with reciting the Rosary at 8:30 p.m. at O’Keefe Baker Funeral Home. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery with VFW Post 8850 performing military Rites., Rev David Huffman officiating.
