Thelma Rice

CINCINNATI – Thelma Rice, 92, of Cincinnati, and formerly of Haverhill, passed away March 1, 2011, at East Gate Springs Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Batavia. She was born Jan. 11, 1919, the daughter of the late John and Sarah (Thompson) Robinette. She was an office worker for Green Township Schools and attended Haverhill United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband William Rice; three brothers: James Robinette, Tom Robinette and John Robinette; and four sisters: Gertrude Ellis, Kathryn Chapman, Elizabeth Vance, and Joann Holley.

She is survived by five children: Carolyn Hancock of Sumter, S.C., William (Sonja) Rice of Reynoldsburg, Wilma (Ralph) McKee of Georgetown, Ky., Nanette (Dave) Moeller of Cincinnati, and Kathy Rice of Columbia, S.C.; 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday at the Tracy Brammer Funeral Home, Ironton, with Pastor Larry Lavender officiating. Interment will follow at Haverhill Cemetery.
